We have been working with Thomas Tallis school in Kidbrooke, London SE3 to help them establish their own apiary.  Many areas of school life will be enriched by keeping bees: students will make hives, study the bees in science class, be inspired by them in the humanities, and bee-keeping will be part of a new agriculture-centred accredited course.  Students will also market and sell their own honey and wax products.  We applaud Thomas Tallis for "thinking outside the box" and bringing the art of bee-keeping to their students. 

The first part of the project was completed in summer 2009 when we trained 8 teachers bee-keeping.
