Taster sessions - for families and friends

We will be running taster sessions, by appointment, we can introduce you or your whole family to the delight of a bee hive. With proper protective clothing and our supervision you will have a unique experience and we hope you will be inspired by our bees!

Bee-Keeping Classes

Unless otherwise stated courses are based at Forster Road Allotments Community Building (near Elmer’s End Station.) See map below or go directly to Multimap.

In a taster session, you'll:

  • Wear full protective clothing

  • Enjoy a supervised visit to our apiary

  • Learn a little of bee behaviour and life in a hive

  • If conditions are suitable - see inside a working hive

  • Learn about different types of hives and bees habitats

  • Receive a souvenir photograph of your selves in full bee-keeping apparell
